So i recently went to the grand reef and experienced the most worst thing that i have done in subnautica. I went with just my Seamtoh with Sonar & MK2 depth upgrade. So the mission WAS to find rubies. However that mission was halted when i found the Degasi base. Thats when the mission got WORSE. I was driving my Seamoth and the depth was past its Upgrade so i go up to repair it, When TWO Warpers came and attacked, leaving me with 5 health(THANK GOD FOR MED KITS). I tried to repair but with the warpers i only had so much. I then manage to get out of that area and on my way to home and a GHOST LEVITHAN came out of know where leaving only 22 health on my Seamoth. And the worst part? NO RUBIES

(Its ok now cause i went to bulb zone)

Just to be clear also, i found the base then after i left it got worse

I consider the deep Degasi base to be one of the scariest of places. If you want rubies, there are much safer places to get them. Near pod 19, on the border between the Sparse Reef, and the Bloodkelp Zone, there are a ton. Also Gel Sacks, and a fair amount of quartz. I built a scout base there (-707, -232, -704) for that reason.

Also built one on the border of Kelp Zone, and Grand Reef where there are plenty. Also found Uraninite there. (-350, -183, -698) Both area's are relatively safe.

This is the area that borders the Kelp Forest, and Grand Reef. All of those outcroppings had rubies on them (like the vent I put thermal plants on), as well as the cliff face in the background.

Go to the spare reef and blood kelp trench. That has lots there. And nothing that can kill you XD
