The radio signal cuts, meaning the radio was on the Sunbeam, or if they did escape they were caught in the blast. To further this, there was little chance they survived as there is a multitude of predators around the Island and they probably didn't get any nautical survival training. Besides, if one of them not only survived, but had the skill that Ryley has, we would most likely would have heard from them, as though the Crater is vast, it's small enough for two people to find eachother.
