It’s so you can atleast not break off a base because power helps hull integrity it’s the reason you have it or your base would have been flooded

If you are completely out of power then your hull shatters. I'm not sure how it works, I just saw a video about architecture and it said that some buildings have a thing where they become incredibly vulnerable when there is a power outage.
