The sea hornet is a 40cm (~1.3ft) predator. This small animal is common over the planet and generally prefers dark waters.
VISION
Its huge eyes contain eight types of cone cells, when human's have three. It means that the sea hornet is able to see way more colors than us and the other alien lifeforms on 4546b.
This asset would alledgedly allow it to communicate with other individuals of its species even in almost complete darkness by the mean of color changes.
PRIMAL DEFENSE
When threatened, it will scare its opponent by showing two eye-shaped glowing spots on its wing-like fins, which it deploys like the colar of a frilled lizard.
If this stategy does not deter the predator, the sea hornet uses a more powerful weapon.
VENOM
In its mouth is a sting. This sting is used both for injecting venom and for feeding. When the creature finds a prey, it stings it and follow the victim until it dies. The venom is possibly the most powerfull on the planet, with three deadly effects :
• accelerating the heart rate to spead up the spread of the venom in the victim's body
• paralysing muscles
• liquefying flesh
Then, the sea hornet only has to suck out the fluids.
This venom is also used as a deadly defense at last resort.
Analyse: Clearly underestimated, to avoid at all costs. If you get stinged, keep in mind that a specimen can be used to produce an antidote. But you have five minutes maximum.
