Although, BZ was on a huge cliffhanger with loads of untied parts. The fact that Alan was trying to discover whether or not the Kharaa wiped out his species was stressed out a lot, so it could be a really significant part in subnautica's new addition to its story. Or not and they'll pick up on another POV. That'd be interesting too!

I think what they're implying is that Al-an IS the entire species. When they uploaded their mind, they saw no reason not to put everyone's together.
