So alien covid is all over 4546B, infecting the flora and fauna for thousands of years, it spreads fast over a couple days, the cure was never sent out because the aliens who caused and tried to fix the mess just didn't listen to the holder of the cure, three people were infected after they crashed, one drowned or was eaten, the other succumbed to the illness but Margureit? GETS DRAGGED BY SATAN HIMSELF FOR MILES, KILLS IT, SURVIVES BY USING ITS BODY AS A RAFT WHILE EATING IT, ENDS UP IN A FROZEN WASTELAND, TAMES A POLAR BEAR CROCODILE, AND IS STILL INFECTED FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG UNTIL A JANITOR RELEASES THE CURE! What is this woman!? Did she WILL the Kharaa out of her!? It is baffling! AND LOOK HOW OLD SHE IS! Her immune system is not what it used to be! and she was attacked by a reaper! there's no way she got out unscathed, her body can't heal and fight bacteria at the same time! Something is up with that woman...

The enzyme peepers were actually why I asked for the diet, if it eats peepers in droves it won't be immune but it will be slowed, so if Margureit ate the reaper it would slow the infection. But that still doesn't explain how she's still alive today.

Idk maybe she's just alive because of plot convenience.

Tbh we have to take everything in Subnautica related to biology with a grain of salt, I mean there's things infected with Kharaa in the lava zones, so obviously Subnautica wasn't going for too much biological accuracy.

@Kaden103 Well then that's just dissatisfying. You can't leave a wrinkle in the story like that! Especially one that big! Unknown Worlds needs to explain, NOW.

Idk, it'll probably be explained at some point, also wondering if the whole Kharaa in the lava zone thing will be explained eventually.

@Kaden103 And the biological accuracy thing is true, but i don't see how the creatures in the lava zone being infected would be an issue, as like I said, this bacterium infects anyone and everyone. if you mean their proximity to the sea emperor that doesn't really help as she's locked up.

She's not god, she's just a recipient of lazy storywriting. Her story isn't really complete in a sense. We never find out how she survived. Likely many of her story beats were scrapped when Tom Jubert left Unkown worlds and the new story (1.0 release) was developed.
