Just got a cyclops and wondering how to prepare
Progress update:
Titanium is hard around the cove tree. This is why I emphasized on bringing extra if you’re making permanant residence. Now there’s plenty of magnetite, uranite, and ruby in and around the cove tree area. Enough for thermal reactors. However even I feel stumped. If anything it feels more worth while to make a nuclear reactor with all the uranite around. It’s a strong supply on rods. And with so much lead on hand- could be more worthwhile.
When life gives you uranium- make an enriched reactor I guess.
I didnt have the prawn suit finished so I didn’t bring it down. I already have a moon pool setup and fully upgraded seamoth- in my haste in getting to the lost river. I made the cardinal sin of not scanning the power cell charger fragments present in the jelly cave. I’ll have to make a return trip to any biome with it
If anything- if your going to suggest which entrances to use, I recommend suggesting what fragments are around the general area, within maybe 1-2 nearby biomes, for instance, one of the blood kelp entrances has the nuclear reactor parts, the entrance through the deep grand reef has the orange tablet + aquarium + any other base module available on the last degasi base + a few upgrade mods including the rare cyclops shield upgrade (which otherwise iirc is only found in dunes wrecks).
Im getting subnnautica soon any tips?
Don't be afraid to explore.
The Safe Shallows, Grassy Platues, and Kelp Forests are all good spots for bases, as they have few enemies that actually pose a danger.
If you need resources from the Blood Kelp Zone, PLEASE go to the trench and not the big one, unless you're trying to go to a cave.
Don't go behind the Aurora. Reaper central and there's nothing of use there.
If you need lithium, diamonds, or gold, try to locate a certain creature that digs them up. If you look at a spoilery online map, it will be on the bottom left areas.
Leviathans tend to avoid the surface. remember that.
After you make a base, there is very little reason to use the lifepod.
@Dogmage999 thank you for the help
@Dogmage999 whats a leviathan tho.
Any massive creature over 30m. In subnautica, there are 6 (?) types of leviathans, 3 of which are highly dangerous.
Well the ghost livithan is in the lost river
Ohhhhhhhh. i feel stupid
My advise at all times in the game would be to bring the materials needed for a hatch, a room, a bioreactor and a scanner room with max range upgrades, and carry them aboard a cyclops. Build those when in a new area to search for stuff. Also suggest you build a forward base at the lowest level of the lost river
