I keep seeing videos on how they had the worst death but when i watched a video on how they died it didnt seem that bad? was there more to it or something that he just didnt explain??

So I know it's not a new theory that Alterra's negligence was the cause of death for all the Aurora crew, but what if it WASN'T negligence...?

Let's look at what we know about the incident: The Aurora was supposed to build a phasegate but was also on a secret mission to investigate the disappearance of the Degasi on 4546B. It carried 157 people, nine of whom were passengers, and one was an emissary for Alterra's rival, Mongolia. Alterra had a lot of beef with Mongolia and was hoping the phasegate construction would allow them to surpass their rivals.

Finding the Degasi was meant to be a sort of peace offering. But what if Alterra had different plans? From Below Zero, we know that Alterra is shady as HELL, wanting to silence all who decide to step out of line like they did with Sam, and from hearing a couple of the crew members logs on the Aurora, specifically CTO Yu, I would assume that a few of the Aurora crew members were a bit too... free thinking... Sending the Aurora to a planet with two ships having gone missing (I'm including the mercury) with an important emissary on board and possible defecting crew would definitely work in Alterra's favor. Get rid of someone who is a head for your competitors, and get rid of troublesome employees. And even IF the defector part of my theory is false, Alterra is still a douchy company to forfeit the lives of people to reach their own goals.

The lifepods are the biggest piece of evidence for this theory. As pointed out by many, the lifepods are poorly equipped with limited food and water, faulty machinery, no defense measures, no diving gear or radiation protection, and easily interceptable radio signals. These aren't lifepods, they're floating caskets/ beacons for predators. Despite knowing that 4546B was an ocean based planet with leviathan class predators, they had made sure those lifepods were more of a death sentence than a salvation, no matter who got into them, unless you are Ryley, you're dead.

Hey, everyone! I have the perfect spot where you can find Ruby’s in the game! The only Hostile Enemys there should just be Tiger Plants. You will want to have Officer Keens lifepod 19 location and go towards it, otherwise just go to the deep sparse reef (South in-game). Once you get there there should be Ruby’s lining the walls almost everywhere. Some equipment you might want to bring would be a Seamoth and a Rebreather as the depth is about 300m down!

For me it's Lifepod 17. The radio transmition is so Iconic because of it being rather early in the game as well as Ozzy's voice lines. It also leads the player to the jellyshroom caves, one of the first dangerous biomes to the player.

So I wonder, I was looking through the destroyed Lifepods page and I saw that Lifepod 17 was attacked by a Crabsnake, what got me thinking is that Crabsnakes stay in the cave to defend their mushroom, so why did that one come out and attack them, from the impact? or could it have been a stalker because those are also slim and they live nearby and are attracted to shiny things.

Why do i feel so bad for Ozzy, his crew log is sad.

The Player Crashes on 4546B,

The player makes equipment, along with blueprints,

The player repairs the radio,

The player gets Sunbeam’s attention, but he gets blocked by a debris field,

He finds the gun by accident, and fails to disable it, but self scanned, only to notice the gun didn’t vaccinate him

The player builds a base

The player goes to the disease research facility, luckily he had gloves lol

The player repairs the drive core

The player makes hatching enzymes and holds onto them after getting the rocket blueprints

The player cures himself, then the sea emperor dies but the player disables the gun and launches the rocket

The player returns but goes to below zero with the help of sunbeam, but he leaves sector zero and gets trapped on the original crater, and leaves,

The player received Ryley’s distress call and escapes with him after he tries to rescue Ryley

They return with Ryley, along with them leaving afterwards

They go in the 3rd aurora, and crash, then repeats escaping AGAIN

They comes back and the 4th Aurora crashes and Anthony was in it, then The player gets a distress signal Anthony made, but they first got the PDA saying they detected a 3rd human life sign and Raven agents tried to kill all of them,

The Player does research, but the Raven agents kidnap Anthony thinking he is Ryley, and Ryley is knocked out, and they also stole the players Cuddlefish

The player finds another island, that has ice…

*the player kicks (REDACTED) into the multipurpose room built on the skybase*

*The player and Ryley meet up and find lifepod 4 with nobody inside*

PDA: detecting 3rd human life signature, and a supply drop, full of equipment, specifically all of yours, Items detected: Repair Tool, Laser Cutter Propulsion Canon, Radiation Suit, Stasis Rifle, and The pathfinder tool

*they leave the lifepod, and leave 3 vehicles after building them*

Player: wait…

*the player goes to lifepod 5 (you know what lifepod it is) and notice another one of the people trying to kill them*

Player: OH (bleep)

*the player stabs (REDACTED) in the face 5 times and then kicks them into the water*

Ryley: WHAT THE (BLEEP) WENT ON UP THERE?

Player: there are people here, not like the survivor in lifepod 4 but people trying to kill us…

(Stories now have murder in them if you didn’t count the fish)

Experienced Subnautica player here. I came to this wiki not long ago and thought that the Lifepod logs were a bit vague. I decided to do a little theorizing and here we are. I’ve decided to expand on the original Lifepod logs and make them a little more similar to Ryley’s experience.

Log 1: Lifepod 2

CTO Yu: Flotation devices failed!

Sound of flooding

BERKELEY: We're flooding, evacuate!

CTO Yu: Wait, I can reconfigure the O₂ system to act as a bilge pump!

BERKELEY: It's working!

Crash

CTO Yu: OK, good news: we're alive, and we've stopped sinking.

BERKELEY: Bad?

CTO Yu: The O2’s going to run out in 30 minutes and we're 500 meters down.

BERKELEY: What do we do?

CTO Yu: We'll have to use the remaining juice to send a distress call and build whatever gear we can, then we find a way to the surface.

Berkeley: These vines are freaking me out. I hope there aren’t any predators out here.

CTO Yu: You see those big, bluish-pink blobs? They’re holding that rock up. Maybe if we remove that, we can use it as a flotation device.

Berkeley: We’re taking a big risk. What if the thing doesn’t float?

CTO Yu: Then we accept death. How much metal did you salvage?

Berkeley: I have enough for 8 pieces of titanium. We can craft a survival knife and cut the thing off of the rock.

CTO: Yu: Could you remove the batteries from the secondary system? We’re going to have to abandon the Lifepod soon. Take everything we can.

Berkeley: Let’s go.

4 minutes later

Berkeley: It worked! We’re at the surface.

CTO Yu: I think I just saw a blue glow under the surface.

Berkeley: Probably just another floatie.

CTO Yu: It’s moving and it’s huge. We better get to the rendezvous.

Berkeley: Hey! If we scan it, Alterra will pay us heaps of credits for making a new discovery! Here goes.

CTO Yu: Berkeley! Wait for me!

Log 2: Floating Island Wreck

CTO Yu: Berkeley is KIA. That thing was truly terrifying and beautiful at the same time. I found an air pocket in an Aurora wreck. I need a break from those sharks. I’ll be on my way to the rendezvous once I catch my breath.

Log 3: Aurora

CTO Yu: Everything on this damned planet wants to eat me. Keen wanted to come with me to the Aurora but we were attacked midway. He swam back to the island and I got to the Aurora. Damn spiders broke my repair tool. What am I gonna do now? The Aurora will explode soon. I most certainly am not getting back to the island with that leviathan in the waters. This is it. I’m doomed.

I found it using seamoth. It was 181 meters deep.

I would probably scream.

Day 51... STILL no ******* life pod!

So i was in the Aurora and i found a screen witch said that Lifepod 8 made contact with the Aurora. I can not find lifepod 8. Does anyone know where it is?
