"The player can also convert their save to Custom Mode at any point from the options menu. The use of this game mode will deny the player from obtaining achievements."
This is wrong and outdate. You can obtain achievements in custom mode.
Me and my buddy are gonna play some Hardcore OG subnautica. Any tips?

The office, the aquarium, the water filters, the growbeds, the base and the dig site
I’m curious if there’s any way to despawn the abandoned degasi bases for the sake of creative mode. Cuz the bases are in spots where I like building my own bases in creative mode but I can’t do so because of them. There doesn’t seem to be a console command, is there any way to get rid of them?
I can’t believe it! I survived hardcore- oh we are on the log, sorry… anyways I built the rocket… the process? I ALMOST DIED 15 TIMES EVEN WITH 2 VEHICLES But, on hardcore? Don’t even ask… IT WAS INSANE
Statistics:
Near Death Experiences: 22
Deaths: 0 (it’s hardcore)
Kills (For Food Or if they are too deadly): 44
Items: Reinforced Dive Suit, Radiation Suit, Knife, Scanner, Repair tool, Laser Cutter, Pathfinder, Thermoblade, Hardened Blade (you can find it even if it was cut from the game the chances are Low but you can get it), Seaglide, Waterproof Locker, Habitat Builder (DUH), Mobile Vehicle Bay, ect.
I Got the Hardcore World after finishing the one in freedom
[HARDCORE MODE HAS BEEN COMPLETED]
I am creating hiper base in every biome and conecting them to main base in save shallows.
So I just completed the game on Hardcore and it wasn't so bad tbh. I mean it took me two tries, although the first try I died in a stupid way so if I didn't it would probably only take one try.
I think the most important factor is to get the Reinforced Dive Suit as quickly as possible. Now this may sound simple enough but I decided not to use any help from the wiki to find any of the blueprints, so it wasn't that easy.
It's also important not to take any unnecessary risks and completing the game on this mode won't be a problem. With that said I did take some risks, like building a Thermal Plant at a 105 degree hotspot and I actually took scans of all the Leviathan's for the lolz. Obviously I used the Stasis Rifle on them but it was still a very risky thing to do - so best not do it when playing on this mode.
Well anyway, anyone else completed the game on Hardcore?
Starting a game in creative mode says there is no story. However, I’m still receiving radio transmissions so that makes me feel like the story is still there. I guess I will see how it plays out, but I’m mostly here because I want to explore everything this time. There are places I didn’t go when I played in survival mode.
It does mostly remove the challenge of the game, though:
There is no counter for O2, Food or Water
All blueprints are unlocked
You have all of the raw materials for anything you might want to fabricate. Even the modification station doesn’t require the item to modify
You start with a mobile vehicle bay so you can immediately build all vehicles
Fauna are not hostile, the reaper is just swimming around. I wasn’t fast enough to scan him, though, so I may need to build ultra glide fins
Batteries are always 100%
Your base comes with full power and full integrity. You don’t need to build a power source and you don’t need reinforcements.
If you do build a power source it doesn’t generate any power. My base is full power and my nuclear reactor says 0 of 1500, even with four reactor rods installed.
I haven’t tested crush depth so I don’t know if I can take Seamoth into the Lost Lakes.
You don’t get unlimited ion cubes, though. You still have to collect them to activate the portals.
You do get blueprints for tablets so you can just build those as needed. You have to have them when you come across a force field control that requires it.
started hardcore and made it (against my better judgement) to the mountain island
