In the original Subnautica game, you can find Kharaa infected creatures. Some of these such creatures, such as Peepers, can be picked up and put in an aquarium. If uninfected fauna are put in the same aquarium, they will soon become infected as well! What's especially cool, is that if you find a Peeper with enzyme 42 and put it in an aquarium with the infected creatures, their green pustules will begin to dim! Just though this was a pretty cut little detail.
If a Subnautica 3 ever becomes a thing, I would love to see it from the perspective of a precursor/architect during the Khaara outbreak or before the outbreak. A cool idea would be having to build all the factories and caches leading to the shutdown of the program. Or maybe even getting to play as Al-an all the way until he uploaded himself to the computer. We could see the ancient leviathans!
I noticed that putting 1 infected fish in a aquarium will infect all the others, I wonder if this also works outside of the aquarium. If it does then is it possible to infect bigger creatures?
SPOILERS
The Khaara turns people and other humanoids into cave crawlers.
Evidence: 1, they are only in places where humanoids lived. Islands, wrecks, and the Aurora.
2, The human tissue in their digestive tracts is their own.
3, Paul Torgal said there were no predators on the island.
Found this on Akinator. Thought I would share it with you guys.
( By the way, Akinator did get it right)
I'm coming for you. I am everywhere. I will slaughter all your hoverfish. I will make sure that...
Every.
Single.
Cuddlefish.
Is.
Dead.
Sincerely,
The Kharaa Bacterium.
Now everyone knows what it can do but there is a small detail within Primary Containment Facility which shows how deadly it truely is. I'm talking about the nanobots.
What do they have to do with it you ask? Well they were probably another atempt at curing the Kharaa.
You see nanobots such as those would be the ultimate cure to pretty much anything, AIDS, Cancer, Ebola, you name it they will take care of it.
How? Simple, they could be injected into the bloodstream and programmed to attack the viruses/cancer cells and destroy only them without causing any harm to the host body. There is no virus that could stand up to them as it's a mechanical process not biological.
So the presence of these nanobots proves that the Kharaa could not be cured using them. My guess why they couldn't work is due to the Kharaa altering the DNA of the host. You see viruses like COVID cannot reproduce on their own so they attach to a healthy cell of the host and pass their RNA into the cell forcing it to repicate it, eventually destroying the cell and spreading more viruses to other healthy cells. So I suspect the Kharaa reproduces in a similar way only by altering the hosts DNA it causes most if not all of the hosts healthy cells to replicate itelf. As a result the nanobots could not be used to cure the Kharaa without killing the host themselves as pretty much the whole oraganism becomes the target.
Can someone explain why when I put oculus in AC they randomly get infected?
I have ton of phlegm and massive headache and belly ache and runny nose...
**** viruses!
Because if it is please tell me
I had a peeper pet named s*x master and kept him with me at all times. One day I decided the places I’ve started going are too dangerous for him, so I put him in an aquarium in my base. I found a hoverfish that was infected one time and couldn’t see the spots, so I put it in s*x master’s aquarium and infected him. I was looking for ways to cure him from the infection but nothing worked. I was using a fabricator when I saw “cured peeper” in sustenance. I think you know what happened
Maybe instead of just killing an infected creature, the Kharaa will instead take over the entire body and have complete control over it. Whatever is infected will still be fully conscious and aware, but will have literally no control over their body. It will be able to spread through air/water and physical contact and is incredibly contagious. Creatures with open wounds are the most likely to catch this virus.
Infected organisms will attack other creatures on sight even if it is obvious they won’t win to try to infect others (for example, an infected peeper will try attacking a sea dragon). This usually results in their death. The bodies of dead infectants will slowly seep off visible blobs of the virus.
If an infected creature somehow doesn’t die after a period of time, the virus forces it to commit some form of suicide.
Yes, I know this isn’t a very good concept or idea and I could explain better, but I just wanna know what y’all think lol. If all have any ideas, comment them! :v
So I played the game recently and the one thing that bugs me is the whole "credits" thing.
Not because you accumulate a huge debt while trying to escape mind you, but because it proves that it's still just a game.
You see in space exploration there is no place for money, because money is an illusion to begin with. However, taking resources of another planet to strike rich on your own just doesn't work, as the resources would just become worthless.
For example Uranus has diamonds literally raining from the sky, and in such quantity that you could bury the whole Earth with them several times over.
But that would just crash the whole diamond market making them worthless.
So realistically the 1000000000000 credit debt would probably be equivalent to 5 cents on todays market rates.
But even if we assume 1 credit is more or less equal to 1 euro it still wouldn't matter. Because Robinson used the Enzyme 42 to cure himself of the Kharaa, and he has thus become immune to it. So his blood can be used to create a serum which can pass that immunity to other humans. And we have to remember that we are talking about a disease that decimated entire solar systems.
So his blood is now literally the most valuable thing in the entire history of the human race - hence the title. He could probably buy the whole planet after a single donation.
So I for one never cared about amassing that debt, I simply treated it as an in-game joke.
My guess is a mix of rabies, bubonic plague, and zombie ant fungus. But other than this, I cant think of one disease that somewhat meets all the requirements: postures and rash on skin, immuno-repression, genetic and behavioral manipulation, etc..
I have returned!!! Just beat COVID 19, cost a fortune but at least I’m alive. Wow a lot happened. You guys really went crazy with the whole “death of the fandom” thing. I have some new experience with fear of death myself so I’m glad I’m coming back to swoop in and aid in the healing of this amazing fandom!! I didn’t expect everybody in the fandom to leave at once though jeez. I’m glad @Josh keep is well and I’m glad I can argue with @TastyDinosaurs1290 again.
