Radiation

Does the Radiation zone post-explosion slowly get larger? Also, do I need to rush to finish it or can I take my time with it? Thanks in advance.

Yesterday I was playing on PC, when I wen't to the Aurora. It was a normal experience until I got home. I looked at my blueprints and my vehicle bay. The Prawn Suit wasn't there! I remember scanning them along with taking the storage module. I looked at my other blueprints and they were still there and my Seamoth had the storage module equipped! Also I repaired the drive core, but when I went back with the rebreather it said "Radiation Detected" and my screen wen't all greenish. What happened!

So im trying to get into the Vehicle bay on the ship, but i can put in a code. Like, i know the code, but when i try pressing the numbers, it wont add in the numbers. Does anyone else have this glitch or is it just me? Oh, and im on a Xbox One S, if that's important
