A flying island really wouldn't be that cool. Subnautica really should focus on depths, and water, not heights and sky.

Well, it wouldn't be that hard. It would really just be an underground cave with no water in it, and since they can remove the water from a moving structure, I think they can handle removing it out of a cave. I think the hardest part would be adding new flora and fauna, as well as the landscaping.

I would like to see something like this under an outer area of the dunes. That way, there can be bubbles that rise through the sand from below. Reapers above the caves can make it hard to reach.

The Dunes would actually be a better location, since it's further away and deeper then the Safe Shallows. I think that reapers guarding everything would make it a little bit too common, but another Leviathan would make it a more unique place. I think that for flora, there should be moss on the walls and ceiling of the cave, and some flowers on little pieces of land sticking out of the water. I think that the surface of the water would either be calm and crystal blue or green (from algea) Another thing that would good would be some decorational colored crystals, or colorful flowers.

Subnautica sub-mission theory

"This is trading vessel Sunbeam. Aurora, we've received your emergency transmission and we're coming in for a closer look. Plan is to engage a slow burn and slingshot around the moon to conserve fuel. We'll alert you when we drop into low orbit around the planet. Stay safe. Sunbeam out." - Comm. Relay message.

Wouldn't it be cool if a sub-mission of Subnautica would be to destroy the Precursor Gun before the Sunbeam got to the planet? What if that is what the devs are planning?

OTHER IDEA: It is part of the main game in order to escape. Destroy the Precursor Gun before the Sunbeam arrives, if you don't, you either with permadeath, or you're just stuck on the planet forever.
