It has crab legs and claws and an octopus head. I’m guessing they chose “crabsquid” because “octocrab” and “crabopus” would have sounded wrong.

Try playing on creative mode, they won’t be able to hurt you and you can swim right up to them. That’s what I do whenever I get too scared to move out of the safe areas.
