Well it is possible that at least Marguerit had a seamoth:

"I've started the prep work. The kid's taught me how to make enameled glass. I've started stockpiling metal ores to build myself a seamoth. I'll raid the indoor growbeds before I leave."

And they had at least 1 kind of submarine in the DGR:

"Towed it home on the back of the sub."

They don't exactly say its a seamoth though.

Well the voicelog didn't give specifics, for all we know he saw some light and drowned. I mean a crabsquid makes most sense, but since they even bothered to build a base down there makes me wonder if the crabsquid population even existed back then.

Either way, the real question is why there wasnt a vehicle to flee to, they had a seamoth apparently, maybe it was destroyed by the attacking leviathan

I think there was a degasi base there, from the trailer, so i think it was a more barren safe shallows with a deeper reaper farm

@Totinos HotPizzaRoles makes sense, but aren't there 2 tablets on the mountain island?
