I separate my cyclops in 3 sections, the storage section, command section, and living quarters.

Storage section is the place behind the diving chamber, with tens of wall lockers.

The pilot section is the bridge, facing the window is a seat, behind the seat is a “keep calm” poster, and next to the ladder is a vending machine+battery charger.

Right behind the bridge is the small room, I fit a single bed, a Grow-bed, prawn suit poster, and med kit fabricator.

It is pretty squashed but it have everything in one place.

Is this discussion limited to SN only or also in real life?

I made the mistake of building a base on the giant tree mushroom, took me like 4 trips for a basic functioning base with water, food, bioreactor, scanner room just for a moon pool fragment.

Then I made the mistake of building a base in the Grand reef thinking about the easy access to the LR from there. Also took me 4 trips for a barely functioning base. Then I abandoned it.

Lesson learned: never build a base anywhere unless you are sure you’ll use it more than 5 times

The first base don’t need to be too grand, fit something that doesn’t come with the lifepod, like a battery charger and Growbeds.

These are best if it’s under the lifepod or as close as possible.

In that case, the Seamoth LITERALLY broke up with the reaper.

Nothing scares me in SN, other than a total software failure or a game breaking glitch.

It’s good to know there’s people who care about Fandom, and congrats on beating COVID.

You realize that Subnautica oddly foreshadowed COVID right? We’re like the precursors, and “Quarantine procedure failure” resulted in massive amounts of infected individuals. I’m serious, we might literally set up a giant gun to stop ships entering and leaving Earth. Subnautica might not happen in planet 4546B, it might happen here... On Earth.

Oh my bad, my opinion is: No, not really that great. Try the sparse reef next to the trench because the sparse reef isn't that treacherous.

No, Reapers can't follow you in the grand reef. One followed me for a hundred meters from the crash Zone to the kelp forest (thanks stasis rifle). Besides, the dunes are like 500 meters away, reapers have to go through a whole sea treader's path to get you. What you should worry about are the ghost leviathans. If you build it directly beneath the floating island you are safe and well out of their patrolling range.

Warpers aren't too bad actually, just keep moving and they can't target you. If you need to stay stationary (read pda...) go indoors, in a seabase or cyclops where you're safe.

Lost river's awfully cool and dangerous, I'd say go there. Crag field is not really worth exploring, if not boring. Jellyshroom caves have loads of resources, especially magnetite. And don't, just don't, build a scanner room for stalker tooth. If you need blueprints go to the floating island.

Remember the competition a few weeks back? I built mine next to the deep grand reef entrance, and it in turn leads to the lost river. I have a cyclops (mk1 depth module) and seamoth (mk3 depth), therefore I can go to the lost river easily enough.

Hiya guys, I finished building my base. I wanted a challenge so I built my base in a brand new Survival game. The hardest part was getting all the blueprints.

1 growbed

3 multipurpose room

1 moonpool

1 alien containment

1 water filtration machine

2 coffee vending machine

And much more...

My base is strategically built next to

the deep grand reef, making lost river exploration easier. It's also far from where the ghost leviathans are.

To be honest travelling between places are a pain because some other places are just simply far (safe shallows, grassy plateaus, mushroom forest...)
