I just finished Subnautica on Freedom mode for something like the 5th time, and I think I wanna try survival. What do you think?
I think it’s because of the rocket countdown and the song that plays during the takeoff. It’s such a good ending

Speaking of the end, Subnautica has one of the best endings I’ve seen in a game (or even a movie). Idk why, there’s just something about it.
No, i’d be terrible at streaming. Streamers have to be continuously engaging, but I tend to hyperfocus into the game and just play and be silent. I’ve streamed once before and I completely forgot I was streaming and I treated it like a recording.
Yeah, I agree. I would just be worried about pausing my recording while resource gathering because what if something dumb happens, you know? But yeah, when I get to doing it, I’ll definitely find some way to record it and make it watchable.
Yes. When I build my PC I’m gonna be putting a capture card in it, so there’s no reason not to. I’m just worried about the space it’ll take up, but if I set it to like 6 fps (so I speed it up 10x) or heck maybe even 1 fps (so I speed it up 60x) it shouldn’t be a large issue.
This is so true. I can pass a ghost leviathan on my way to the lava zone, I can evade a couple reapers in the dunes, but the crabsquid is still terrifying
I know it would be better in creative, and painful in survival. But, I want the bragging rights of making a huge, map wide base in survival (or maybe hardcore?). It’ll definitely take months to do, but I feel like the end result will be worth it.
Ok, good. The base thing, in case you’re wondering, is constructing a massive cross-map base, that makes a base in every single biome into one base. It’s a project that i’m gonna start in the future once I have a working PC again, because I don’t think a console can handle it.
Okay, I’ve seen this question be answered yes AND no. Do resources, such as titanium, quartz, and lithium respawn? I’m asking because I’m thinking of doing an ambitious base project in freedom mode. Lots of I-corridors, Lots of reinforcements, lots of glass I-corridors. This is for the original Subnautica, not BZ.
A sea dragon egg would have definitely been cool, originally planned or not. But yeah, I definitely understand what you mean with the PC > Console thing. It is unfortunate that it’s a thing that happens but hopefully with consoles getting closer to PCs in terms of performance (for example I believe the Xbox Series X GPU is similar to an RTX 2080) this happens less.
The reefback egg is something I wish they didn’t cut. On my PC playthrough I actually used commands to give myself one for my aquarium. Now I’m replaying the game but on console because my PC died lol
That is a good point, I never really thought of cut content being the reason. Thank you.
This is something that has been bothering me for a while. Why is this their threat level:
When a peeper, for example, has this:
It doesn’t make sense. Heck, the shuttlebugs are scavengers while peepers are herbivores. If anything, the peeper should be slightly elevated with the shuttlebug at the bottom.
