Heres my take on this debate.

A leviathan requires classifications that other creatures wouldn't need.

• Is larger than nearly all lifeforms in its home biome/biomes.

• Capable of stimulating one of the 9 factors of human terror.

• Has a key maintenence in its enviorments food chain, usually an Apex preddator or Massive herbivore that is pretty much a behemoth.

• Has special genetic features that make it recognisable

• Very hard to kill

And size requires an approximate minimum, lets say about 77 feet.

Depending on your size intepretations and standards, The squidshark is technically a leviathan, but is seen in more of a pseudoleviathan light.

The smallest "leviathan" in subnautica is the seatreader, measuring at 20 meters long. and found in only one region in the game, the reason of why it is considered a leviathan is likely due to size restrictions being lowered for what can be considered a leviathan.

But then could you say the ancient floater is a leviathan?
