Category:Story currently contains 266 pages; including just about every biome and material in both games.

Most of the contents are technically important for completing the game, but they render the category useless for finding things such as characters, special locations, and lore.

To make the category more useful, here are my proposals:

A) Remove all pages that are not fully centered around the story

B) Remove all pages that have little to do with the story (e.g. remove Rabbit Ray but keep Deep Grand Reef)

C) Keep pages that have little to do with the story but include their category, not the pages directly. Include highly story-related pages directly

D) The same as C, but only include a page directly if it has no good category to include. Otherwise, include only categories

I don't mind making the changes, as long as other editors agree with them.

Where can I find another (Better) Wiki for subnautica? I see theres lots of misrepresented or lack of information on both Subnautica, and Subnautica below zero.

Regarding the Large Room and other items added in the Living Large update for Subnautica:

Should the recipes for these rooms appear on the material pages?

E.g., Plasteel Ingot page has the Large Room recipe on it

Hi all, first time post here. I tried searching for this discussion here because I can't be the only one with this problem, but this wiki's incessant use of background photos behind the text makes it nearly unreadable on certain pages.

Is it not possible to add dark boxes behind the text (or at least text shadows or something?) to make it more readable? Particularly the pages about above-water items such as the Floating Island or Mountain Island use daytime images of these places on the Wiki, and the white text is nearly unreadable. I find myself scrolling up and down constantly trying to find a dark part of the background image so that I can read the text.

Is there any way for the community to implement this?

As in, the large room (subnautica) and large room glass dome (subnautica)

Hello there! I thought I'd come in and share some details on changes that happened recently.

I will mostly share quick notes below, but if you have questions about any of what's mentioned, feel free to visit the links or ask me anything!

Technical Updates:

• Structured Quotes have been implemented – These are optional to use, but a way to introduce structured data into wikis.

• "New Visitors vs. Returning Visitors" chart clarification on Special:Analytics – It used to reflect the data from 1 day, and has been rectified to cover 30 days, like the other charts.

• Blog posts unintentionally became editable to everyone recently, rather than just the author and the wiki moderators; this is now fixed.

Experiments/Tests:

• Interactive Maps performance improvements – Testing is happening at wikis using this feature, as an attempt to improve map rendering performance.

• Mobile Drawer released for logged-out users on mobile – This drawer was an experiment for a long time and now became a feature, intended to lead low-engagement users to stay around a bit longer and visit more pages.

• Universe Pages have been released – These are not part of wikis (other than simply linking to them) but do include some of the topics as an entry point hub for discovering an universe, which is optimized to rank highly in search results (see more info).

Editing changes:

Due to an increased amount of vandalism and suspicious activity around the platform, some changes to editing were made recently, with the goal to reduce some of these issues, and make moderation more manageable to admins and moderators. To elaborate a bit more on these:

• Email confirmation will be required to use your account on any wikis where anonymous editing is disabled. Any user can emailconfirm their account via Special:Preferences (User profile > Email options). Those whose account hasn't been confirmed will see a notice about needing to confirm their email. If you have trouble confirming your email address, please contact Fandom Staff via the help desk.

• Other changes include anon-editing being auto-disabled on any wikis where admins/content mods have not edited for at least 7 days, and also being disabled by default on brand new wikis, until the wiki passes a platform safety review.

Feel free to visit the original blog post for more of an explanation. While it's impossible for ALL instances of vandalism to go away – this being the internet we're talking about here – we hope that at least having a bit of a barrier to creating new accounts helps put a dampener on bad edits, so that it eases the effort of moderating to some extent.

So I noticed that on the community page there is an “expand these articles” and under it was hover fish (Subnautica) But all it says is “hi, it’s me hoverfish.” Can someone please delete it? Another one there is, is a confirm email for some random user whose name is in another language, not to mention that page is 100% blank. Please get rid of these extra articles that quite literally no one needs. (Only admins can delete pages)

In the ghost update it says added emperor leviathans when the update prior added them and it never says when ghost leviathans where added

The wiki has two categories that I personally think should be combined: "Alien Technology" and "Architect Technology". The difference is that "Alien Technology" applies to all the Architect objects/entities in the first game, whereas "Architect Technology" applies to the second game. However, given that the aliens in the first and second game are the same, it feels silly to have two separate categories. For instance, the Alien Robot from Subnautica is labelled under "Alien Technology" whereas the one from Below Zero is under "Architect Technology", despite the fact that they are the same thing. If I were to pick I would call the combined category Architect Technology, because the only reason the category was called "Alien Technology" in the first game was that at that point the Architects' name had not been confirmed.

The article for the Brinewing has it classified as aggressive, which is something I don't entirely agree with. In my experience they only freeze you if you stay near them for a significant duration, and they always prioritize smaller fish. In addition, their projectiles don't actually deal any damage, meaning the only danger they present is the potential to prevent you from reaching the surface to regenerate lost oxygen. The Lily Paddler has similarly harmless but potentially debilitating behaviour and is categorized as Defensive. I would love to hear your opinion however!

It says that the ghost leviathan in the void is 1.15x bigger than the one in the crater (I'm talking about adults of course)

I did the math and the void ones are 108.2305 M

And the ones within the crater are 107

Well at least the part for jumping from one part to another, i am not sure if it is also broke on pc but it is on mobile, it just snaps you to the top. i have not contributed to the wiki for subnautica but have for other games like grtg and ark. i regularly dig through the files for most of the games i own. i also am a novice glitch hunter and taser in paper mario sticker star.

Yea, I forgot to post it again...

First time editing on this wiki, and I finally figured out how to get the Seatruck Dock recipe and database entry to appear correctly. But I don't know how to change the small icon at the end of the recipe to the picture from the builder tool. I screen grabbed, cropped and made a small picture from the builder tool UI and uploaded it, but I don't know how to get it to appear in the recipe. Any help would be appreciated.
