― Marguerit Maida, to Robin Ayou

QuoteBar (BZ)

Marguerit's Greenhouse is a small base built by Marguerit Maida on an iceberg in the East Arctic. The greenhouse contains rare, edible flora that can be harvested and grown by the player.

Should the player find the greenhouse before hijacking the Communications Tower for Marguerit, the door will be locked. Once this task has been completed, Marguerit will invite the player over and unlock the door.

Description[]

The base is fairly small, consisting of a single Large Room with a Large Room Glass Dome on top. Inside, there are edible flora including Chinese Potato Plants, Horseshoe Shrub Plants, Small Marblemelon Plants, and Preston's Plants.

Like Marguerit's other possessions, the Greenhouse is grimy and ill-maintained. The interior is overgrown with creeping vines.

Story[]

After using the Test Override Module to disable the Communications Tower, Robin is invited to come over to Marguerit's Greenhouse for a "present." After a brief conversation with Marguerit regarding Robin's sister, Sam, a PDA can be found in the back of the greenhouse. This PDA reveals a conversation held between Marguerit and Sam shortly before the latter's demise. The two discuss Sam's desire to eliminate Alterra's source of Kharaa, with Marguerit convincing her to use powerful, home-made explosives to seal off the entrance to Phi Excavation Site. At first, Marguerit suggests that Sam also deal with Omega Lab, but quickly decides to do it herself, deciding it would be fun.

With both Marguerit and Preston preoccupied at the greenhouse, the player can return to Marguerit's seabase and freely explore the rest of the rooms.
